Hey, everyone! It’s been too long and I wanted to provide an update on my doings! This project has been in constant development and things are changing all the time. I just finished the 4th draft of the novel, after cutting so much from the 3rd draft that it wasn’t long enough for a novel anymore. But that won’t be an issue from here on out. I’m going to write one more draft and then send it off to my beta readers for their feedback.
I’m envisioning this book to be the first of a loose trilogy that takes place in the same world but with different characters as the apocalypse unfolds. The Body Shop will be the beginning of the apocalypse, Book 2 will be once the end of civilization has settled in, and Book 3 will be into the future, when humans have adapted to a new way of survival. I have rough synopses of Books 2 and 3 so as soon as I complete the final draft of Book 1, I can jump right in and get started on Book 2.
I will try to update this blog more frequently, even if I don’t have much to say because I’m still working on things. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes when writing long-form work that it feels like nothing is going on if people can’t see it.
