I have not named her;
it is not my place
to name and
therefore capture
her spirit.
She does not fear me;
maybe she knows
she is special,
a good omen of
luck and renewal.
She hesitates to pass
until I say she is pretty,
as though my voice
splits the reeds;
and then she is gone,
a ghost disrupted
by the breeze.
