Garbage In, Garbage Out

We are better than this;
plastic culture splayed
across our thresholds;
borderline narcissists
pounding on our doors like
barbarians of braggadocio
at the gate, peddling watches
under overcoat, pushing drama
with the dream; spoon-feeding
taste like mother bird dropping
worm in mouths agape,
bred to consume;
pay no attention to the suit
behind the curtain, climbing
mountain of coin left by those
seeking quick fix, distraction
from lifestyle laze; product
oversaturated then forgotten,
from drop date to viral meme,
before the Next Big Thing
props up the decay;
the only salvation is to
demand release, to
make a scream
a thesis.
